I’ve been an educator for over 25 years, working in college counseling, pre-law advising, law school admissions, and teaching political science at the undergraduate level. I’ve loved all of it—especially walking alongside students and families as they navigate an ever-changing, often anxiety-filled process. It’s a privilege to watch young adults step into the responsibility of choosing what comes next.

Over the past decade, I’ve counseled over a thousand students through the college admissions journey. I’ve also led institutional strategy efforts, which sharpened my ability to make thoughtful decisions when uncertainty is high and information is incomplete. From both roles, I’ve learned the importance of being guided by values, understanding your tolerance for risk, and remaining flexible enough to pivot when needed.

From these experiences, I developed two frameworks to help families better understand the college journey within the context of the high school experience and the landscape of admissions. I'm convinced that healthy and thoughtful processes result from using this approach. I look forward to connecting with you.

Pillars of My Practice
Core strengths I bring to every family relationship
DEPTH of EXPERIENCE
I’ve worked with students across changing admissions landscapes and from a wide range of academic, extracurricular, and personal backgrounds. My experience spans the pre- and post-COVID eras and the evolution of standardized testing...from paper SAT/ACT to digital versions, and from test-required to test-optional and back again. I've counseled students through pivotal moments in their lives—from unexpected family changes to shifting athletic recruiting opportunities. I help families stay steady and informed, even when the process is in flux.

ADMISSIONS INSIGHT
I invest time every month staying current with the latest admissions policies, program offerings, and institutional priorities. Through regular campus visits, direct conversations with admissions officers, and continual observation of developments and trends, I ensure that my guidance reflects not only what colleges say—but also what they do.
PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
Through 25 years in education, I’ve developed a trusted network of colleagues in college counseling, admissions, financial aid, test prep, and higher ed faculty positions. While each student works directly with me, I regularly draw on this network to ensure my insights are grounded in the latest thinking across the field. I'm grateful for this collaboration—it enhances the depth and relevance of my guidance for families.

STRATEGIC FRAMING
I guide students in connecting the dots between their experiences, values, and goals—helping them see their story clearly and articulate it with purpose. From early self-reflection through application essays and interviews, I support students in shaping an authentic narrative that aligns their identity with the opportunities ahead.
PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT
I remain engaged with professional associations and contribute actively to ongoing conversations about the college process. In recent years, I’ve presented at national and regional conferences, reviewed NACAC conference proposals, participated in accreditation reviews, and moderated panels with senior admissions leaders. This work keeps me connected to industry information and ensures I am continuously learning for families.
