GREAT PLANS CREATE LIFT.
A great plan is more than a sequence of steps—it’s a framework of experience, information, and care that helps each student’s potential take shape. At Rosecliff College Consulting, I partner with families to build a college path that reflects each student’s strengths, priorities, and story—so their goals can take flight.
How I Approach the Work
My approach begins by centering the student—their values, strengths, interests, and goals—because every meaningful decision grows from a clear understanding of who the student is and what matters most to them.

From there, I bring a systems-level view to the college process. College admissions is not a standalone process; it's embedded within the broader high school experience and shaped by institutional priorities, national trends, regional differences, and evolving expectations. I teach families how this system works so decisions are grounded in reality rather than guesswork or pressure.

Together, we align the student’s goals with the system of admissions. We build an overall strategy, consider opportunities, acknowledge and work within both personal and structural constraints, and thoughtfully evaluate tradeoffs along the way. The final dimension of the work is helping students articulate their story—the throughlines of engagement, contribution, and growth that demonstrate authentic alignment with college communities.
Together, this approach turns a complex admissions system into one families can move through with confidence.
What This Looks Like in Practice
01 Discovery
We begin by uncovering what matters most. Through guided conversations and reflection, students clarify their strengths, values, interests, and goals. This foundation shapes every choice that follows.
02 Direction & Engagement
With priorities clarified, we map academics, activities, and opportunities in ways that support growth and purpose. Students learn to make intentional choices about how they spend their time and energy.
03 List Strategy
Using current admissions data and a nuanced understanding of institutional fit, we build a thoughtful list by balancing opportunity and fit across four key factors. This helps families make informed choices about where the student can both get in and thrive.
04 Applications & Storytelling
I provide structure, feedback, and steady guidance through essays, applications, and timelines. Students learn to articulate who they are, what they value, and how they contribute—clearly and authentically.
05 Decision Support
As decisions arrive, I guide families through the final decision-making process—weighing academic, financial, and personal considerations so students can choose with confidence.
What Students Build Along the Way
While the process includes many tangible tasks (for example, I help students build a standardized testing plan), the deeper work is about helping students learn how to think, decide, and communicate with intention. Over time, students develop skills that extend far beyond college admissions:

-
Clarifying priorities and setting meaningful goals
-
Making informed decisions within real-world constraints
-
Understanding complex systems and their own place within them
-
Articulating purpose, growth, and contribution with confidence
-
Approaching high-stakes choices with agency rather than anxiety
Centering the student. Navigating the system. Protecting their story and options.
